A Mesage from our Pastor

When God Says GO and We Sort of Say NO

When God says GO and we sort of say NO

Have you ever thought, UH NO i Don’t thinks so God? Our thoughts are usually not grammatically correct or in line with a perfectly submissive Spirit.

Moses has what might seem at first this Chance encounter with a burning bush that did not burn. Go figure how do you see a bush burning that is not burning, to much coffee maybe?
Moses had to check it out because he he sees a bush burning but not really, does this make any sense so he turns about and thats when God SPEAKS! He hears Moses, Moses,. Now i don’t know about you but this HE man would be just a little freaked out if a burning bush that wasn’t burning started to SPEAK TO ME. This is how God first introduced himself to Moses. No ordinary encounter right! At least not in the circles I run with.

Exodus 3:2-4
“2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.”

I am not making light of scripture just trying to put myself in the shoes of a man who encounters GOD in a way that was way beyond ordinary. We do not serve an ORDINARY GOD THOUGH DO WE. We serve an Extraordinary God who does Extraordinary things, who in turn can ask us to do extraordinary service on his behalf.
What he was about to explain to Moses and then ask him to do was beyond any thing ordinary for sure!

There has been a long period of what might seem to be silence on the part of God when it came to the nation of Israel as they sojourned in Egypt. That does not mean God is not aware of what was happening to Israel. He was watching and listening just like he watches and listens to us every day of our lives. Yes that is right he is watching as I write this and you are reading this. AN EXTRAORDINARY GOD IS WATCHING OVER OUR LIVES RIGHT NOW! If you know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour you are no longer just some ordinary joe blow to HIM. You are Gods child, Royalty if you will and your Heavenly father is pretty Extraordinary. His Love is extraordinary!

John 3:16
“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

His passion to get us to believe him is not ordinary.

2 Peter 3:9
“9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

God has gone to great lengths to reach me and you with his message.
Have we received it? If you are not saved yet why not? If you are saved are you listening when he speaks to us from his word?

Moses listened to the message God had for him, though he had a lot of questions and needed a lot of re assurance of Gods plan that was being revealed.
He listened but then went UH NO GOD WHO AM I THAT I SHOULD DELIVER YOUR PEOPLE OR STAND BEFORE PHARAOH? Moses was not extraordinary of himself but God would equip him to GO and do some very extraordinary things. Maybe you have a lot of reasons why you can not accept what God has done for you on the cross. I know it seems so extraordinary that God would place such a cost on sin and then pay it himself. But that is his love doing the Extraordinary thing, we just have to accept it.
Maybe it seems God is asking us to do the extraordinary service but it is him doing it in us first then we are used to help others after.
Moses had to accept the deliverance of God for himself before he could be used to deliver Israel. After we receive Christ he wants to use us to reach others with what he has given to us, salvation.
Lets accept it then surrender to be used to deliver it to others.
Matthew 28:18, 19
“18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: {teach…: or, make disciples, or, Christians of all nations}”

The GO in the gospel is an extraordinary service, but we are equipped by an extraordinary power to see God do his extraordinary work. Will we accept what he is offering and GO with what he has Given!

Lets go with the gospel! AMEN
