Do we perceive God at work in our lives

DO WE PERCEIVE GOD WHEN GOD HAS WORKED IN OUR MIDST?
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED ABOUT, IS GOD AT WORK IN MY LIFE?

Mark 8:15-17
“15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?”

The disciples have in recent days watched the Lord minister to several different groups of people at a time. He ministered to over five thousand in Mark 6 and at the end of the day the disciples wanted the Lord to send the multitude away to there homes so they may get some food. Jesus challenges the disciples to feed them since they knew they had a need. The disciples did not have anY food to speak of with them so how were they to accomplish this. Well most of us know the story, a Young lad had 5 loaves and two small fish that he allows the Lord to have and Jesus feeds the multitude with them and fills twelve baskets with extra bread beside.
You come to Mark 8 and another multitude are gathered for three days and this time Jesus has compassion on them and desire to feed the multitude before sending them away. He lets the disciples know of his intention and they wonder how he plans to do it. Notice there question.

Mark 8:4-7
“4 And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?
5 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
6 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.
7 And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.”

HOW DOES GOD SATISFY A MULTITUDE IN THE WILDERNESS? HOW DOES GOD MEET OUR NEEDS IN THE WILDERNESS OF OUR LIVES? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE FOR GOD?

First thing we must perceive is that all we have must be placed at his disposal, no matter how little that may be in our eyes. Is God in control of all that I possess? It is not enough for the disciples to give God five loaves and a few small fish when they have seven. They saw God feed five thousand with five loaves, surely he can feed four thousand with less right? Both are miraculous if there were a thousand loaves but the key is does God have full control of all that we possess. If the truth be told he could have set a table for kings with out any help from the disciples but the lesson he wanted them to see was to place a his disposal all they had.

DID THEY PERCEIVE THIS?
16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.

When Jesus disperses the crowd and runs into a group of pharisees seeking a sign from him he was grieved with them. He then warns the disciple to be aware of the leaven of the Pharisees. This is when it is revealed they had not really perceived the miracles Jesus performed in the feeding of the multitude. It was right there in front of there eyes and they missed it.
They worried they had messed up because they forgot to stock up on more food. One loaf between twelve men, five loaves between five thousand, seven loaves between four thousand. Should they be concerned about having enough is what Jesus was trying to get across.
Are we concerned about the physical aspect of life when God is focused in on the Spiritual side of things.
God wants us to be spiritually in tune or perceptive to the life lessons he is displaying before our eyes. God can do a lot with very little when we place ourselves and all we have at his disposal.
Will we ask the Lord to cause us to be spiritually perceptive to his working in our lives?
The Pharisees were seeking a sign from the Lord in hopes they might trip him up and reveal he is really not God and Jesus wanted the disciples to be aware of them. We can not be perceptive to this if we are missing out on seeing Gods power at work around us.

Have a wonderful day as you take time to perceive God at work in your midst.
